create & inspire

Last Thursday saw the Create & Inspire event at Lane Crawford's flagship ifc store.  It was a wonderful night filled with art and the chance to see Hong Kong's local stylish set "peacock-ing" on their stomping ground. The event was marketed to customers as a chance to celebrate art in fashion, as well as to fete Lane Crawford's relaunch of their website (which is vast improvement on its previous incarnation).

So often, people forget that fashion and art really go hand-in-hand.  Unfortunately, sometimes those in the fashion world are looked down upon by "true artists" as sell-outs.  I condemn these people.  I think Stanley Tucci said it best, "What they [the designers] did, what they created was greater than art, because you live your life in it." Thank you, Lane Crawford, for constantly and faithfully reminding us of the beautiful creativity and inspiration that fashion brings into our lives each day.
